I’d rather meet you and ask questions about you… that’s why I like meeting new people. You learn so much more by asking questions and listening than talking about yourself! However, I was asked to share something about me.
So… My twitter bio says “Dad, husband, sports fan, radio personality” Let’s see… I am a dad to my daughter Logan and son Jack (and our fearless pup Stella). My best friend is my amazing wife Jenny. I’d rather watch sports than anything else on TV and would rather talk about sports than just about any other subject. I also love music and that’s what drew me to radio many years ago. Besides New Orleans, I’ve worked in Atlanta, Charlotte, Cleveland, Orlando, and Myrtle Beach. You name the job, I’ve done it in radio. I even spent 10 years in the music business as a Promotion Manager for Columbia Records working with bands like Destiny’s Child, John Mayer, Maria Carey, Aerosmith and Train.
These days, the most fun I have is from 3-7pm when I get to play great Country music on the radio. I’m a huge fan of today’s country artists! The most compelling thing about my job is I never know what to expect day-to-day and that keeps me on my toes.
I am admittedly a “car guy.” I have driven an Audi R8 on the road course at Atlanta Motor Speedway (140 mph on the backstretch) and a stock car at 149 mph (avg speed) at Charlotte Motor Speedway. (…I know I could’ve gone faster if they would’ve let me!) I still miss my old Pontiac Lemans with a Hurst Shifter and I’ll stop at any car show I can find.
Since moving to New Orleans I’ve learned a few things. In no particular order:
– The Westbank can actually be east of where you are!
– Nothing good happens on Bourbon Street after midnight! Go home!
– EVERYONE is a Saints fan, no matter what you do or who you are!
– This city has some of the most beautiful architecture in the South!
– Lucky’s hot dogs are damn good!
– There is no better city in the world for great food, cocktails, and hospitality!
– It’s pronounced Car-on-da-LET. Not Car-on-da-LAY.
– Superior Grill has THE best Margaritas in town!
– Beads… Beads… and more Beads…
– Jambalaya is good… Pastafalaya is even better!! (locals know)
– The trip across the Causeway Bridge has amazing sunsets!
– Potholes are here to stay… deal with ‘em!
